Set Your Intentions

Your responses to the questions in this activity serve as the foundation of a vision recording that you can leverage as a motivator throughout this process. This recording can be a video or simply an audio recording on your phone. Leverage the medium you feel will be most useful to you.

  1. Fill in any gaps in your script above. What else will be true on the date you listed above? What message do you most want to include?
  2. Revisit your script and adjust the tense so it reads as if everything has already been accomplished. For example, instead of “I will complete all activities in The Examined Life Workbook,” say, “I have completed all activities in The Examined Life Workbook.”

  3. Record yourself reading the script with the confidence of everything having come to reality.

  4. Include a song in the background to add extra meaning and emotion.

  5. Decide how you will leverage your recording. You can play it each time you sit down to work on your workbook, each time you complete an activity, each time you have an ah-ha moment, each morning, each evening. The uses are endless. When will you most need a boost in this process?
